The Switchcraft 1/4" Guitar Barrel Jack Socket mounts flush with the guitar body edge for a clean look, no mounting plate required, the same style as used commonly on Ibanez RG and similar guitars. The shortest solder terminal is the output (to the jack's tip) and the longest length solder terminal is ground. The Stereo variant has a 3rd tip for stereo use. On guitars, a stereo jack is usually used on active pickup systems which is most common on bass guitars, active pickups (such as EMG) or Piezo equiped guitars with onboard preamp.
